Trauma Treatment

Have you experienced difficult circumstances in your past that continue to dominate your present? Are you struggling with nightmares or flashbacks of disturbing events? Do you feel disconnected from other people, emotionally numb, or on edge most of the time? Do you jump at loud noises and constantly search for an escape route? If you’re dealing with these symptoms, you may be dealing with PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), or another trauma reaction.

It is possible to find healing, despite these traumatic events. You can come to a place of peace. You can sleep at night and remain fully present in the “now.” You can reestablish old relationships or develop new ones. You don’t have to feel alone in your pain.

Trauma treatment is a process of facing the difficult things that happened to us, examining how they have impacted our lives and relationships, and making changes to how we relate to things that remind us of these traumas. Trauma treatment typically results in an initial increase in symptoms, followed by a slow lessening of symptoms.
